2011 Hope and Homes for Children Triathlon

Each competitor has a fundraising target of £485. This year money raised from the event will be used to transform the lives of vulnerable children and families across Central and Eastern Europe and Africa.

From this page you can download all the fundraising information and materials you need to reach your target, including sponsorship forms. If you prefer to fundraise online, why not set up a page on Just Giving. Online pages are by far the easiest and most efficient way to raise sponsorship.

Cost Examples
Below are a few examples of how your fundraising efforts will help change children’s lives forever:

£10 could provide a child with a lifetime of memories.
When a child grows up in an institution they can easily lose any idea of who they are and their sense of individuality. Your gift could be used to provide a child with a story book that they can use to record important moments and experiences in their lives, helping them to retain their own sense of self worth as they grow older.

£15 could sow a seed of hope:
To give a family the means to feed themselves is to give them dignity and belief in what they can achieve. You could provide a family with the seeds and advice they need to grow their own food and provide a healthy diet for them and their children. A healthy child is far more capable of fighting disease and growing as they should. This gift could keep giving for years to come.

£20 could help a family to peck away at poverty:
Providing a family with five chickens can be a life changing gift. Your gift can provide them with food, fertilizer for crops and the makings of a small business to help them on their way to self sufficiency. This is a special gift that will benefit a family for years to come.

£25 could support a mother to care for her baby
A new child brings joy and happiness but can be a daunting time for a young mother, especially with no family to support her. A new baby kit can give the mother everything she will need to make the first few weeks and months easier to give her more opportunity to bond with her child without worry. Your gift could include bed linen, bottles for baby food, a dummy, nappies and toys, everything a new mother and child could need.

£30 could fund a big day out
When a child grows up in an orphanage, the bleak, loveless building can be all they know. Your gift could enable a child in an institution to be taken for a day out. Not only could this provide a child with a day away from the harmful institution, it will give them an experience they will remember for a very long time.

£50 could provide physio for disabled children
Disabled children in state run institutions can be left unattended for long periods of time. Unable to move themselves and respond to aches and pains, which are magnified as time goes by. Worse still they may be unable to communicate this to their carers. Your gift will give a disabled child a session of Physio with a professional that can relieve their aches and pains and improve the child’s quality of life.

£100 could provide a family Christmas
Every child deserves to feel the thrill of excitement and anticipation leading up to Christmas. For children in our Small family Homes though, this Christmas may be one of the first they have experienced. This gift could provide a family celebration to help them really get into the festive mood.

£500 could transform a family
The strength of a family can never be underestimated, but sometimes a little extra help can make a world of difference. With this gift you can provide support to a poverty stricken family and put them on the path to self-sufficiency. Your gift could be a comprehensive package that includes health and medicine; school fees, uniforms and books, house repairs and furniture; and help with training or finding work. With your help a family can be transformed within just a few years.

No matter what you raise your support will transform lives!
